Integrally suppressed Ruger MkII .22lr semi-auto pistol was made by Franks Guns in Joplin, MO. We took it out to test fire it with American Eagle and Remington ammo. It worked very well with both types of ammo.

We shot this review at South East Regional Park in Tucson, Arizona

This Ruger MkII .22lr is a Title II (NFA-weapon) because of the integral silencer. Silencers are legal in most states. The following states currently prohibit private ownership of silencers: CA, DE, HI, IL, KS, MA, MN, MO, NJ, NY, RI and VT

A friend asked us to take apart his TAC 65 .22 long rifle suppressor we were happy to do so. With the end cap removal tool, it was much easier to remove the end caps. The end caps were put on tight but with the tool it was possible to remove them. Once the end caps are off it is possible to remove the baffles for cleaning. We did not remove the baffles, once we had it apart this far it was obvious the lead build up was negligible, so we just put it back together..

We had a chance to photograph one of the smallest .22 cal suppressors made, the Gemtech Outback II. This small suppressor is just 5 inches long, one inch in diameter and weighs just 2.5 ounces. The Outback II is made of Aluminum with Titanium threads

We had a chance to put these five .223 (5.56x45) suppressors side by side. Here are the Gemtech G5, Yankee Hill Machine Phantom 5.56, the Surefire FH556-212A, the OPS INC Model M4 MBS and the Gemtech HALO.

We did not get to shoot them all (yet) but here is a rare opportunity to see them all together to compare length, diameters, shapes colors and weights.

The shortest, and lightest is the Surefire FH556-212A in the center of the photograph but all these suppressors are close to the same size and weight.
